About the event
Few musicians bridge the worlds of jazz education and major touring bands as seamlessly as Brad Leali. A Grammy Award winner with the Count Basie Orchestra, former bandleader for Harry Connick, Jr., and current member of Lyle Lovett’s Large Band, Brad now serves as Professor of Jazz Saxophone at the University of North Texas.
For this special engagement, he brings Groovetet, an elite big band formed from outstanding UNT alumni — musicians who combine world-class credentials with the kind of musical conversation that belongs in a room like Songbird. Also featured on the concert is Grammy-nominated Singer Carla Helmbrecht.
